She has worked for other Osteopaths over the years gaining lots of experience before setting up her own practice in Edinburgh and then in Thurso in 1991. Here she worked for 4 years before starting work in New Zealand. Osteopathy is an integral part of the health system there and she also chaired the ethics committee for Osteopaths.

She was also Osteopath to the Scottish Women's Rugby team for 2 seasons and competed as an athlete at inter-county, national and international level.

Sheila also surfs and coaches surfing regularly and has competed for Scotland with much success. All her sporting abilities contribute to her having a particular interest and unique understanding when it comes to treating various sports injuries.

Since 2004 she has concentrated on building up the practice to become the multidisciplinary clinic it is today, which she is very proud of.
